These Cities Will Get the Most Snowfall on Christmas

Two snowstorms are set to impact both coasts concurrently this week, with the westernmost snowstorm peaking on Christmas. Utah will get the most snow on Christmas Day, with snowfall throughout the preceding 72 hours accumulating up to 12 inches of snow depth. A closer look at NOAA data reveals the cities that will get the most snowfall on Christmas Day.

To determine the cities that will get the most snowfall on Christmas, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed data on snowfall forecasts from the NOAA. Cities with at least 40,000 residents were ranked based on the total one-day snowfall they are forecast to receive on December 25, 2024. Supplemental data on forecast snow accumulation for the 72 hours ending December 25, 2024 and the forecast minimum temperature for Christmas Eve are also from the NOAA. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
