These Northeast Cities Are Due for a Rainy Halloween

This week, a slow-moving, low pressure system is bringing heavy rain and storm winds up and down the East Coast. The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for dozens of major cities, affecting millions of Americans.

As the system moves northeast this Halloween, several major cities are bracing for rain. At least 25 cities will receive over an inch of rain, while one coastal city will receive nearly two inches in just 24 hours. A closer look at the data reveals the cities that will receive the most rain on one of the biggest outdoor days of the year.

To determine the cities that will get the most rain this Halloween, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed precipitation forecast data from the NOAA’s National Digital Forecast Database. Cities were ranked based on forecast cumulative rainfall for October 31, 2025. Only cities with at least 25,000 residents were considered.
