Dangerous Storms Move East Due To Climate
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that the most dangerous U.S. rainstorms, traditionally hitting the West Coast, are shifting to the East Coast. Previously fueled by atmospheric rivers from the Pacific, these extreme weather events are now forming from the warming waters of the Gulf of Mexico, which have reached nearly 90°F. This shift increases the risk of severe flooding and hurricanes on the East Coast in coming decades, driven by climate change.
