Electric Pickup Trucks Have Failed

Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reported that Stellantis has canceled its fully electric Ram 1500 R.E.V. after repeated delays, citing weak demand for large EV pickups. Instead, the company will release the Ram Charger, a hybrid-style truck with a gas-powered engine that recharges its battery. McIntyre notes that Stellantis’ decision reflects a broader industry struggle, as automakers like Ford have also faced sluggish sales for electric pickup trucks.
