Global Climate Goals in Jeopardy as Major Polluters Fail to Act
Douglas McIntyre, editor-in-chief of Climate Crisis, reports on the lack of action by major polluters to meet global climate goals. The U.S., Russia, India, and South Korea have failed to update their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) on the U.N. registry, reflecting their progress toward reducing carbon emissions by 2035. While China has increased its renewable energy usage, it remains the largest coal consumer, followed by India, which has made minimal renewable energy advancements. McIntyre highlights the inertia among these countries and doubts significant climate action will occur soon.
