Tesla remained the top EV company in the U.S. during the third quarter of 2023, according to Cox Automotive, with commanding leads in sales and market share while traditional automakers like GM and Ford struggled to compete. GM held just a 2% market share, trailing far behind Tesla, while Ford ranked even lower despite investing nearly $30 billion in its EV efforts. Korea’s Hyundai/Kia came in third, further underscoring the challenges legacy car companies face as they transition from gas-powered vehicles to electric.
