Trump to Shut U.S. Climate Adaptation Centers
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reported that the Trump administration is moving to close several U.S. Geological Survey Climate Adaptation Science Centers. The closures would affect the South Central, Northeast, and Pacific Island centers, which support projects helping communities and ecosystems adapt to climate change. McIntyre explained that the shutdown stems from the Interior Department’s failure to approve renewed funding, not from a federal budget impasse.
