U.S. Food Waste Reaches 183 Billion Pounds
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that U.S. food waste has soared to 183 billion pounds, contributing heavily to greenhouse gas emissions.
He notes that while the U.S. pledged to cut food waste in half by 2030, the government has made little progress and lacks the authority to enforce action.
McIntyre emphasizes that without large-scale recycling programs and public education, food waste will continue to be a major driver of climate change.
