Massive Smoke Cloud From Wildfires Blanket Idaho, Montana
Massive wildfires, burning primarily in California and Nevada, have caused a smoke cloud that stretches from Los Angeles to Wyoming, Idado, Montana, and as far east as Minnesota. By far, the heaviest smoke is in Idaho and Montana. This raises health issues and interrupts the operations of some businesses.
This cloud is not unlike the massive one that moved south from considerable forests in the northwest area of Canada last summer. This blanketed an area as far south as Washington, DC, and west as Minneapolis. New Yorkers wore masks identical to those they used duing the pandemic.
India Pollution
This smoke is not unlike that in the largest cities in the world, many of which have air pollution problems, including India and China. These problems cause illness for some people with preexisting conditions and threaten the longer-term health of others.
Health Problems
If large wildfires in the western US continue, America will have air pollution problems similar to those in China and India. And due to droughts and high winds, the wildfires will continue.
