US Wildfire Count Jumps To record 36,000
According to the National Interagency Fire Center, there have been 35,884 wildfires in the US so far this year. That figure will top 36,000 today, burning 3.1 million acres. Both are records for this point in the year. And drought in the US is worsening alongside record temperatures. That is a formula for more wildfire incidents.
