A new 9.2-gigawatt AI data center will be built in Ohio. AI giants OpenAI, Nvidia, and SoftBank will fund it. It will be one of the world’s largest data centers. It will run on gas, a move away from attempts to power these huge installations with green energy. It is yet another precedent for the use of fossil fuels because they are convenient.
