Kevin O’Leary Goes To War Against Wind Energy

Rich entrepreneur and Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary savaged wind energy, calling it “the stupidest idea I’ve ever seen.”
O’Leary’s exact comment was, “Last year at the climate change conference in Dubai, the leader of that conference said, look, we’ve all got to face reality. This is all BS. Wind farms are sheer economic stupidity. We’ve got to stop doing that because it’s really expensive.” One person in the round table discussion said oil rigs in the ocean are “super cheap.”
Trump’s Plans
The new administration has supported this view of what was supposed to be a major part of the green energy initiative. A recent Wall Street Journal read, “Trump Paralyzes the U.S. Wind Power Industry.” The president has paused leases and permits for the installations.
Wind energy was already in trouble. The Post recently observed that “BP wrote off more than $500 million regarding current wind projects. Eversource sliced $300 million off its portfolio’s value. And Ørsted took a sledgehammer to its accounts, wiping out a whopping $5.6 billion. Its stock plunged more than 20%.”
Wind On Life Support
Is wind energy dead in America? It is certainly on life support.
