Many coastal zones were overdeveloped during population booms, leaving large home inventories that are dragging prices down to crisis levels. A closer look at the data reveals the cities where home prices are falling the fastest.
To determine the cities where home prices are falling the fastest, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed historical data on median home sale prices from Redfin. Cities were ranked based on the percentage change in median home sale price for all residential homes from May 2025 to June 2025. Only cities with inventories of at least 1,000 unsold homes were included. Supplemental data on population is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
