While the long, rain-filled Labor Day weekend has passed, much of South Florida is bracing for another round of heavy precipitation this week. A slow-moving system is forecast to drop more than an inch and a half of rain across the Miami metropolitan area over the next several days, raising the risk of localized flooding in low-lying neighborhoods.

The National Weather Service warns that repeated downpours on already saturated ground could create hazardous travel conditions in parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties. A closer look at the data reveals the cities forecast to get the most rain through Thursday.

To determine the cities forecast to get the most rain this week, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed data on quantitative precipitation forecasts from the NOAA’s National Digital Forecast Database. Cities were ranked based on total forecast cumulative rainfall for the period September 2 to 4, 2025. Only cities with at least 75,000 residents were considered. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
