Large swaths of the Southeast will receive several inches of rain through the end of the week, with isolated areas in Georgia, South Carolina, and the Florida Panhandle potentially getting more than six inches. The storm’s interaction with a stalled frontal boundary will funnel deep tropical moisture across the region, enhancing rainfall rates and increasing the likelihood of flooding in low-lying areas. To determine the cities that will get the most rain this week, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed data on quantitative precipitation from the NOAA’s National Digital Forecast Database. Cities were ranked based on total forecast cumulative rainfall for the period August 5 to August 7, 2025. Only cities with at least 25,000 residents were considered.
