New York City Slammed By Smoke From Canada

There are over 700 fires burning in Canada near the Arctic Circle. Blown south, it has now caused alerts about the smoke on humans
There are air quality alerts around the entire New York metro and as many as 75 miles away.
In central Connecticut it reads, “An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone and Fine Particulates within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.”
Emergency Rooms
It is not as simple as smoke getting into people’s eyes.
From an economic standpoint, area emergency rooms bear a greater burden. As the admissions route to many hospitals, they can be back u[p for hours. This someone makes a medical condition worse, particularly for people with preexisting conditions.
Some industries will need to close down, at least partially. Notable among these are ones that include outside labor like construction and agriculture.
