Sand And Dust Storms Hit 330 Million People

According to a new UN report, 330 million people are affected by dust storms, and sometimes the conditions they cause can be fatal. The report was from the United Nations’ World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The number of nations affected can be as high as 150.
The official name for the effort is the International Day of Combating Sand and Dust Storms, and its designation is 2025 – 2034 as the UN Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms.
Much of the sand and dust does not reach land. Sand and dust storms (SDS) are natural phenomena that can affect almost all sectors of society. An estimated 2,000 million tons of dust are emitted into the atmosphere annually, of which 75 per cent is deposited on land and 25 per cent on the ocean.”
Seven Million People
According to Aljazzer, about seven million people die prematurely because of the phenomenon.
A total of 3.8 billion people have some dust or sand exposure each year.
One of the astonishing aspects of the research is that there has been no visible warning about the problem, at least that has risen to the level of global awareness. With each year, there is a similar revelation.
