Ford hoped to capitalize on the popularity of its gas-powered F-150, which is the U.S.’s biggest seller, by introducing an electric version and invested nearly $30 billion in EVs. However, the Lightning’s year-on-year sales dropped 50% in October. Even Tesla’s Cybertruck, another EV pickup, is struggling to gain traction.
