Farewell, fossil Fuels? Sorry, but it looks Like we’ll Flub renewables targets
A new International Energy Agency report reveals that the world will fall short of its renewable energy target for 2030, achieving only 2.7 times growth instead of the projected three times. Meanwhile, with energy demand set to increase, driven in part by AI and Bitcoin mining, reliance on fossil fuels like coal and oil will likely persist. The original goal of reducing fossil fuel dependency by tripling renewable energy capacity now seems unlikely to be met unless countries significantly ramp up efforts.
