Ford’s Low EV Sales Signal Trouble
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that only 4% of Ford’s Q1 car sales were EVs, despite the company investing $30 billion into its EV business. Ford plans to spend another $5 billion this year, but much of it will result in losses. The company’s failure to gain traction in the EV market, even with its brand power and resources, suggests that consumer adoption of EVs remains sluggish—posing a challenge for the industry as a whole.
