Google is Going Very, Very Green
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, explains that Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is investing in modular nuclear reactors to power its growing AI server infrastructure. These small reactors are faster to build and potentially easier to regulate, although they remain largely untested. With the energy grid strained and renewables lagging in capacity, Google’s move could significantly advance the transition away from coal if successful.
