How many Weather Satellites Does The World Have And Is it Enough?
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that 323 weather satellites are currently orbiting the Earth, providing vital data for forecasting. However, as climate patterns become more volatile, this number is no longer sufficient. McIntyre warns that the United States is pulling back on deploying new satellites, while older ones are burning up upon reentry. Without renewed investment, accurate weather prediction may be at risk.
