SEC Drops Climate Risk Disclosure Rule for Public Companies
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that the SEC will no longer require public companies to disclose climate-related risks. Initially introduced under the Biden administration, the rule was set to provide transparency about corporate contributions to climate change. However, the Trump administration will eliminate it, allowing companies to avoid scrutiny over their environmental impact while also saving them from costly compliance.
