Senegal sizzles in Extreme heat — and put-upon population heads for the exits
Senegal’s Tumacanda region is currently experiencing extreme heat, with some areas reaching 115 degrees Fahrenheit. This harsh climate, coupled with recurring droughts and flooding, is pushing tens of thousands of people to leave the country in search of safer conditions. The ongoing climate crisis on Africa’s western coast has left men, women and children facing dangerous journeys and limited options for relocation. With few resources available to support this growing climate migration, the situation highlights the increasing challenges of global warming and the lack of immediate solutions for those affected.
