The Climate Is Hurting Easter Candy Production
Your children’s Easter baskets may not include chocolate in the coming years. The Cacao plant, where chocolate comes from, is mostly grown in West Africa where recent droughts, torrential rain and flooding have been prevalent. This is causing the price of chocolate to go up, and companies like Hershey’s are going to have to decide if the production costs are worth it.
