The motor city Faces climate change, and it’s not a pretty picture for its Power Grid
Detroit experiences more frequent power outages than any other U.S. city, with an average 40% of the city facing blackouts annually. The area’s aging grid, combined with increased demand due to climate change, makes maintaining reliable electricity increasingly difficult, with blackouts affect food storage, medical equipment and overall safety. As extreme weather expands, other cities may soon face similar challenges.
