America’s $3.1 Trillion Climate Loss
Since 1980, there have been more than 400 climate events that have done more than $1 billion in damage each. These have killed over 17,000 people. Over the entire period from 1980 to 2024, the total of all these has hit $3.1 trillion. Most years, the pace of the increase in that number is rising. Douglas A.
