A Major Comeback For Offshore Wind
The Trump Administration has tried to kill offshore wind projects. It shut down the largest one which was nearly completed near Rhode Island and built by Orsted. The company laid off 20% of its workers yesterday
However, one project is moving ahead. According to Heatmap AM, “The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, a 2.6-gigawatt giant that’s nearly triple the size of the nation’s current largest operating seaborne wind farm, is just six months from coming online, its leadership said.”
Large Number Of Turbines
It will be up and running in six months. The project will include 176 turbines.
For some reason, the installation has dodged Trump’s heavy hand on green energy. With electric use rising, it happens just in time.
