Ford Cancels Major EV Project

In a major defeat, Ford will delay production on a new three row SUV. It will also push back production of a new EV pickup. Work on these at a Tennseesse plant will be delayed.

Ford said it would concentrate on hybrid sales, which have been strong across the industry

Forrd had said ti would invest $30 billion in EVs though the end of next year It planned to have the ability to product 600,000 this year

Ford has never done well with EVs. Its launch of the F-150 Lightning has been a failure. So has the Mustan Mach-E both have been plagued by poor quality

Industry Barriers

Ford has also faced industry hurdles. These include limited range, a lack of changing stations, and high prices.  Ford has not been able to change its image as a gas-powered company. And it continues to rely on theme for its profits. It has lost more than $100,000 on EVs it has sold in the last year.
