Trump Cancels School Bus EV

EVs are supposed to be the passengers cars and heavy trucks. There was an idea that school buses would be added to the list. The Trump Administration has pushed that back, so it is not part of the EV near term future.
According to Bloomberg Green Daily, “…the Trump administration swiftly put in place an unprecedented government-wide spending freeze in late January that included the Clean School Bus awards.” It was to cover, among others, the Little Rock School District. It had been given $9.8 million in 2023 which was part of the Clean School Bus The program was frozen. Trump reported the EV school bus program is “chaos.”
26 Million Students
There are 480,000 school buses in service in America, carrying 26 million students—over 90% of these run on diesel engines. “Exposure to air pollutants from diesel vehicles is especially problematic for children, whose rapidly developing bodies and high respiratory rates make them more susceptible than adults to poor air quality,” the Electrification Coalition reports.
It adds, Electric school buses have zero tailpipe emissions, improving the air quality for all children.
It is one more green program the Trump Administration has ended.
