Whence the next pandemic? Cities Where the Next Pandemic Is Most Likely to Break Out
The National Weather Service has issued coastal flood watches for millions of Americans, as well as wind and surf advisories. And while heavy precipitation is raising the risk of flooding on the East Coast, an inland storm system could bring several inches of rain and flash floods to the Southwest, with a handful of cities in Arizona ranking among the places forecast to receive the most rain this weekend. A closer look at the data reveals the cities that will get the most rainfall this weekend.
To determine the cities forecast to get the most rain this weekend, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed data on quantitative precipitation forecasts from the NOAA’s National Digital Forecast Database. Cities were ranked based on total forecast cumulative rainfall for the period October 10 to 12, 2025. Only cities with at least 25,000 residents were considered. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
