From Kansas to Coachella, These 25 Cities Will Hit 100°F This Week

The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for 693 counties, representing more than 69 million Americans. More than 60 counties are forecast to hit 100°F over the next few days, with several small cities expected to experience extreme heat risk – the most severe category of heat risk, during which power outages are likely and all groups are at elevated health risk. A closer look at the data reveals the cities where temperatures will pass 100°F this week.
To determine the cities where it will be over 100°F this week, Climate Crisis 247 reviewed daily high temperature forecasts from the National Digital Forecast Database of the NOAA. Cities were ranked based on average forecast maximum temperatures from July 22 to July 24, 2025. Only cities with at least 40,000 residents were considered.
