Rainfall totals could top two inches in some areas, with some cities expected to receive several weeks’ worth of rain in just 72 hours. In Florida, heavy rainfall is strengthened by a low pressure system off the Atlantic Coast that the National Hurricane Center predicts has a 40% chance of cyclone formation. A closer look at the data reveals the cities that will receive the most rain this week.
To determine the cities where it will rain the most this week, Climate Crisis 247 analyzed 72-hour quantitative precipitation forecasts from the National Digital Forecast Database of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Cities were ranked by total cumulative rainfall forecast totals for the period July 2 to 4, 2025. Only places with at least 150,000 residents were included. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau.
