A huge home on Cape Cod, officials of the town of Wellfleet say.. It is estimated that the 5,100 square foot home built on a bluff well above the water will fall in three years or sooner.

*Ocean Destruction

*California Homes Fall

*California Mudslide Threat

According to The New York Post, According to The New York Post, ‘The property is within Cape Cod National Seashore. The National Seashore Administration supported rejection of the seawall because of the “critical location” within the seashore and Wellfleet Harbor area, including critical habitat and valuable shellfish operations.’

Shellfish Risk

The primary worry about the house is not its destruction. It is that there are oyster clusters below it. These could be permanently damaged. An analysis by the AP shows the ocean water has begun to rise more quickly in the last several years.

Wellfleet is near the tip of Cape Cod. One one side it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other the Cape Cod Bay. The town has a population of about 3,600.  The town has become extremely crowded. It had only 1,400 people in 1960.

Similar To North Carolina

The problem with the house is not unique. There are currently homes along the California coast by the Pacific. And, along the coast of North Carolina, several homes have already fallen into the ocean.
