Tornadoes Crush Illinois, Alabama

In 2023, the number of tornadoes in the US reached 1,423. The monthly number jumped to 242 in June, the heart of the tornado season. The number of fatalities related to these storms was 83, although that figure is almost certainly undercounted.
Hurricane News –The Threat To Florida Grows
According to Payless Power, “Illinois, Alabama, Colorado, and Texas had the highest tornado counts in 2023.”
Few scientists believe this increase is due to a random set of events. Temperatures across the middle part of the country have reached record levels. The vast storms from these have triggered massively damaging flooding, hail, and tornadoes. Additionally, several of these tornadoes happened before the tornado “season.”Â
Storm Activity Can’t Be Reversed
Many scientists argue that global warming has passed the point where human activity can reverse it. That means storms will become more violent and numerous. This is in addition to many other events worldwide that may be irreversible, including record and deadly temperatures in India, drought in Africa, and relentless rising seas.
American tornadoes are just the tip of an iceberg.
