Sad study: 570K killed in Top 10 Climate Disasters; Real Toll Likely Over a Million
With a new study saying that the ten largest climate disasters over the past two decades have killed 570,000 people, Climate Crisis 24/7 editor Doug McIntyre underscores that these ten events represent just a portion of the overall devastation, as numerous medium and smaller-scale climate disasters remain underreported. When factoring in these additional events, the true death toll from climate-related disasters is likely much higher, possibly over a million deaths in two decades, with the study being only the “tip of an iceberg.”
