Wildfire Smoke May Kill 70,000 a Year by 2050

Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reported that wildfire smoke could cause 70,000 premature deaths annually by 2050, costing the U.S. more than $600 billion a year. He highlighted research showing wildfire smoke will soon become a persistent national crisis. At the same time, the Trump administration is attempting to downplay climate-related health risks by questioning the 2009 endangerment finding that established greenhouse gases as a public threat.
