Turning Salt Water Into Drinking Water

A process known as desalination has triggered a fresh water surplus in San Diego. It is sharing this with neighboring states that face severe drought. The challenge is that the process is extremely expensive and will be limited in its output for now. It is widely used in the Middle East, but some of the nations there are rich by most standards.
