Say Goodbye To Green Energy

New plans by Republicans to remove many of the green energy incentives now in effect will cripple environmental plans for years to come. They will put the US on a path to be the top polluting nation in the world, passing China. China is making astonishing strides in the renewable energy sector.
The AP states, “Environmental groups warned the proposals would pave the way for more oil and gas industry activity on public lands and increase planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions in the United States.” It would advance the “Drill baby, drill” approach to making oil and gas the pillar of America’s energy supply.
New Trump Rules
Green energy is troubled for other reasons. Trump has killed the ability for wind companies to build offshore, strangling investment in the sector. China’s tariffs could hit solar with inflationary pressure. Nuclear energy may be a part of the future of green energy, but a huge deployment of this is years away.
Coal may be the most efficient solution if renewable funding falters. According to the U.S. Energy Administration, coal still represents 16% of the electricity in the U.S.
Trump signed an executive order that may allow coal plants to be built or brought back online. According to Reuters, the Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) said in a report that Trump’s executive orders could potentially delay the closure of coal-fired power plants and encourage the restart of 102 recently shut coal-fired units.
Green energy use may have peaked in the U.S. for at least a very long time.
