Solar-powered cars are Danger To EVs
Nissan has a new solar-powered car. The Ao-Solar Extender is installed on the Sakura van, which is the best-selling EV in Japan. So far, it only provides a little less than 2,000 in extra range. However, the product is in its early stages. Nissan says it is designed to reduce grid power consumption.
One of the features of the new vehicle is that it can be solar-charged while parked or while driving. This alone gives it an advantage over almost every passenger vehicleÂ
Although EV adoption has been slow in the US and across parts of Europe, it is exceptionally high in much of China.Â
AI Data Centers And AC
In the US, there is no real competition from EVs for electricity. There are simply not enough of them. However, in the US and elsewhere, this will almost certainly change. And the collision will become more visible when crypto, air conditioning, and AI data centers are added.
The idea that solar cars would be mainstream has not been part of the auto industry’s thinking. However, on the list of the most widely used renewables, solar is a major part of the equation.Â
EVs may have new competition.
