10 EVs With Sales Heading Toward Zero

Cox Automotive and Kelley Blue Book have released their EV sales data for the first six months of 2026 — also referred to as the first two quarters (Q1 and Q2), or Year-to-Date (YTD) sales. Climatecrisis247 looked at models whose sales had dropped more than 90% and fallen below 400 units for the entire period.

Eleven models fit the criteria. In seven cases, sales did not even reach 100 units.

Most of the models on the list have been discontinued or renamed, so their sales will likely soon be zero.

There aren’t many traits these EVs have in common. Six were luxury vehicles, which suggests — though it’s only a guess — that high prices are already weighing on EV sales. None is from a US manufacturer. That said, two discontinued Ford models, the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, still sold in high enough volumes to avoid the list: Mach-E sales were 11,832 in the first half of the year, and Lightning sales were 4,481.

At the broader brand level, some of the world’s best-known names are struggling too. Jeep’s EV sales fell 93.3% to 416. Audi’s dropped 85.3% to 1,697. Nissan’s fell 88.8% to 1,774.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Tesla holds the top two spots among the best-selling EVs of the first half of the year. The company still commands a 50% share of the US EV market — down from 79.5% in 2020. Sales of the overall market leader, the Tesla Model Y, rose 8.8% to 163,454 units. In second place, the Model 3 saw sales drop 34.3% to 66,616. No other model captured more than 5% of total EV sales in the first half of the year.
