Power Outages to Surge as Heat Waves Hit Electric Grids
Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, reports that the U.S. will see a significant rise in power outages this year, with Michigan leading the way. According to a recent study, the state suffered more than 212 large-scale outages and over 34,000 hours without power annually. As temperatures rise, so does the strain on power grids, especially in areas heavily reliant on air conditioning.
