Heavy Rain Due In Miami, According To Experts

The NOAA has issued its Seasonal Precipitation Outlook For August/September/October. Among the expectations is higher than normal rain in Miami, based on the study’s map.
A primary reason is a warm atmospheric event which warms the area. Much of this is due to extremely warm water in the southern Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. Water temperatures on the surface of the Gulf have approached 90 degrees F.
Hurricane Season
Another reason for the forecast is likely that hurricane season does not end until November 30. Rain events from these storms can drop several inches of rain is a few hours.
Miami is often listed as one of the American cities most likely to flood due to climate change. A portion of the city is below sea levels. In powerful storms the risk of heavy floods increases.
