Among all used EVs sold in the US last year, the most popular by far was the Tesla Model 3. Its sales were 28.9% of all 1-to -5 year old EVs in 2024.

The Tesla Model Y finished second at 15%.

Many Americans who want to own an EV have turned to used ones. The average price for a new EV is $54,000 which is about $9,000 higher than the average price of a new gas-powered car. Karl Brauer of iSeeCars, which produced the study, commented. “We’ll see if the Model 3 and Model Y continue to rise through the ranks of popular used models over the next few years.
