Meat Production Drives Climate Emissions

Douglas McIntyre, Editor-in-Chief at Climate Crisis 24/7, highlighted research from The Guardian and Senniet Media showing that agriculture accounts for one-third of global greenhouse gas emissions, second only to fossil fuels. Despite this, media coverage rarely connects food production to climate change, with meat production — responsible for nearly 60 percent of food-related emissions — especially underreported. McIntyre noted that public perception also downplays the issue, with most Americans believing meat consumption has no impact on the climate.
