Chevy Bolt Sales Drop To Only 13 Nationwide

The Chevy Bolt was among the first EVs sold in America. It was first on the market in 2016. As Chevy and parent company GM’s EV portfolios grew, the Bolt was discontinued at the end of last year. In the first quarter of 2025, Chevy only sold 13.

GM currently sells five EVs, which will grow later this year. Today, those are the  Blazer EV, Silverado EV, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, Hummer EV SUV, and Cadillac Lyriq. GM reports its EV sales rose 94% to 31,887. That is only 4.5% of the first quarter total of 693,363. GM’s EV experiment continues to be a failure.

GM’s New EVs

Surprisingly, the Bolt was discontinued, while GM’s EV model lineup remained modest. Clean Technica gave the Bolt 4.5 stars out of 5. Its experts wrote, “The takeaway after one week with our Chevy Bolt is that this is all the car most people need. It’s built well, with no squeaks or rattles.”

The Bolt will be remembered as GM’s EV starter. If GM’s EV sales don’t pick up, it will be remembered as one of the successful ones.
