Chinese EV Company Claims Ultrafast Charging Times

China EV car company Zeekr claims it has solved one of the industry’s greatest problems: substantially cutting battery charging time.
People shy away from EVs because battery charging times can be long. Even with the most potent charging station, getting a battery from a charge of 20% to over 85% can take 15 minutes or longer.
According to CNBC, Zeekr’s website says, “In just 10.5 minutes, Zeekr’s new batteries can go from a 10% to an 80% charge, using the automaker’s ultra-fast charging stations.” The claim is hard to prove, and cars must use the Zeekr charging station network. Additionally, the feature will not be available until Zeekr launches its latest car model.
In the US, if Tesla could get its charging stations to work as quickly as possible, it could change the opinions of tens of thousands of potential buyers overnight. Weaks sales have hit the US.
If faster stations are installed in the US, the victim will be legacy car companies that continue to get all their revenue from gas-powered cars. There have been forecasts for several years that this would occur. China has been crushing US sales in the country.
