Ford’s April unit sales in the US had an unusual dip. The figures had risen for the first quarter. In April, they dropped by a very modest 2.4% to 179,588.

China News –Does It Lie About EV Numbers

As EV sales hit a wall, Ford began to push its hybrids like many other car companies. Sales were up for hybrids, but the total was weak. Hybrid units were 17,997, up 59.5%. That was 10% of Ford’s total unit sales for the month.

Low EV Sales

Ford’s EV sales in April were 8,019, up 129.2%. That represented 4% of total sales.

The most disappointing number was for the Ford F-150 Lightning, which was supposed to be Ford’s EV flagship. Sales were only 2,090 in April, up 56.6%. However, the figure was 3% of F-150 sales.

Ford’s success in the EV market is years away if, with stiff competition, it has one.
