Tesla Recalls 1.8 Million Vehicles

Tesla, the leading EV company in the US by far, has recalled 1.8 million vehicles. The software in the vehicles may not detect an unlatched hood. The recall includes some 2021-2024 Model 3 cars, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles.
The hood, if open, could obstruct drivers’ views.
Partially at issue is whether Tesla is treated reasonably by the press and government. Would a recall of a problem at this level involve coverage by a huge news service like Reuters?
The coverage is particularly unusual because Tesla issued software to the vehicles to fix the problem through its over-the-air system.
