The Filthy River Seine Starts To Ruin The Olympics

The Summer Olympics has some swimming events, most of which will be done on the River Seine. The filthy and dangerous water continues to push these events back. The most recent of these problems was a delay in the triathlon involving a 1,500-meter swim. The other weather condition that has affected cities this year is heat.
The triathlon is among the signature events out of the 30 or so events at the games. It may be the most grueling. The record for the Olympics is one hour and 45 minutes. It involves a .93-mile swim, a 25-mile cycle, and a 6.2-mile run.
The triathlon is not just a signature sport but also the image of Paris as a venue. How will the city be viewed if it ruins a key part of the games?
Rain Is A Problem
Oddly, rain, which is much cleaner than river water, is the cause of river pollution. Heavy rain washes dangerously polluted water into the Seine. Rain has been part of a major climate change this year.
If the triathlon is canceled, other swimming events are also at risk.
